William "Bill" Joseph Worland, 70, of Columbia, MO, formerly of Montgomery City, MO, died on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Lenoir Woods in Columbia, MO.
William Joseph Worland was born May 24, 1948 in Mexico, MO, to Joseph Worland and Margaret Mary Wieschhaus Worland. He graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School and got his degree as an electrical engineer in Rolla, MO. He worked for Mayflower for years and drove a truck cross country many times. Mr. Worland was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and was a member of St. Vincent DePaul, where he drove people to their appointments. He was a quiet man, but enjoyed visiting with all his family and friends.
Mr. Worland is survived by his brothers and sisters: Mary Frances Glenn of St. Charles, MO; Robert Wayne Worland and wife, Patricia, of Bixby, OK; Thomas Allen Worland and wife, Anne, of Hermann, MO; James L. Worland and wife, Alyce, of St. Peters, MO; Rita Jean Barks and husband, Andrew, of St. Peters, MO; and Kenneth Eugene Worland and wife, Jill, of Ballwin, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Worland was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret Mary Worland; and brother-in-law, Robert Glenn.
A Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City, MO. Interment was in the Worland Cemetery near Montgomery City, MO. Visitation was held on Sunday starting with a Prayer Service at 3:00 PM and visitation to follow until 5:00 PM at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers included Robert Worland, Thomas Worland, James Worland, Andrew Barks, Kenneth Worland and Kevin Schaefer.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Masses; the Immaculate Conception Church; or to the American Diabetes Association, c/o Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361.
