Valley Joles II, 74, of Montgomery City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

Valley was born in Streater, Illinois, on June 8, 1950, to Valley Joles, Sr., and Margie Exner. A man of hard work and dedication, Valley owned his own business painting barns, a profession he took great pride in. He was a constant presence in the area, always on the go, whether it was for work, visiting family and friends, or simply enjoying life.

Valley had a deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He had a special way of spoiling them with candy and sodas during visits, always with a twinkle in his eye and a playful spirit. His mischievous nature and zest for life were infectious. He could often be found at the BP gas station, cleaning the countertops near the soda machine in exchange for a free drink—usually telling one of his many charming stories, always with a smile.

In his personal time, Valley had a love for cars, particularly his prized 1948 Ford sedan, which he cherished. He also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, never content to stay still for long. His life was marked by movement, curiosity, and an unwavering energy that everyone around him felt.

But it was his storytelling that truly set him apart. Valley had a knack for captivating those around him, keeping everyone laughing with his anecdotes. His stories were legendary, and his presence was always welcomed by friends and strangers alike.

He will be remembered not just for his hard work but for his vibrant personality, his love for life, and the way he made everyone feel special.

Valley is survived by his children: Travis Joles of St. Peters, Missouri, Clay (Molly) Joles of Wellsville, Missouri, Valley Joles III of Wellsville, Missouri, Thomas Joles of Middletown, Missouri, Judy (Caleb) Crabtree of Mexico, Missouri; grandchildren: Nikolaus Joles, Shane Joles, Jacob Joles, Rizpah Joles, Valley Joles IV, Tom Joles, Beau Crabtree, Sadie Crabtree, Cayden Joles, Madie Joles; siblings: Judy (Ronnie) Bethel of New Florence, Missouri, Tom (Carla) Joles of New Florence, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Valley Joles, Sr., and Margie (Exner) Kozemchok, and siblings, Larry Myhren, Yvonne Wilaby, and Bud Luer.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Missouri, with Pastor Kevin Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow in New Florence Cemetery.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
