Thomas A. Barney, 64, of Montgomery City, MO, died on December 14, 2016 at the SSM/Audrain Hospital in Mexico, MO.

Thomas A. Barney was born August 12, 1952 in Warrenton, MO, to Thomas Albert Henson and Joyce Wray Bacon. He graduated from Montgomery Co. R-II High School and then graduated from North East Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO. Thomas worked in the St. Charles, MO, area until he moved to Montgomery City and then he worked at the Montgomery City Youth Center as a Youth Service Specialist. He enjoyed going to flea markets, traveling, taking vacations, and loved to go to the beach. Thomas loved spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews.

Thomas is survived by one brother, Kevin Barney, of Columbia, MO; and one sister, Joy Deering and husband, Dennis, of rural Montgomery City, MO; nieces and nephews: Kalin James Barney of Columbia, MO; Jayson Deering of Montgomery City, MO; Jeffrey Deering and wife, Shanna of Kingwood, TX; Jaime Deering of Montgomery City, MO; and Jonathan Deering of Montgomery City, MO; great-nieces and great-nephews: Jessie, Olivia, Lucas, Levi, Cal, Camryn, Carson, Caden and William; step-mother, Nancy Barney Rogers and husband, Buck, of Springfield, MO; Uncle Dean Tate and wife, Sue, of Montgomery City, MO; cousins, many friends, and his dog, Bailey.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Curtis Barney, and step-father, Marvin Barney.

Thomas was cremated and there will be private services at a later date.
