Tamara "Tammy" Renee Poindexter, 51, of Boonville, MO, died on Monday, March 30, 2020, at the Lakeview Health Care Center in Boonville, MO.

Tamara "Tammy" Renee Poindexter was born October 31, 1968 in Mexico, MO, to Donald Larry Poindexter and Peggy Joyce Payne Poindexter.  She graduated from Montgomery Co. R-II High School in 1987 and attended college in Warrensburg and Kansas State graduating with a degree in social work.  Tammy loved her job, first working in Kansas and later working at Pathways in Jefferson City, MO, as a traveling social worker.  She enjoyed crocheting and visiting with all her family and friends.

Tammy is survived by her parents, Donald Larry Poindexter and Peggy Joyce Payne Poindexter of Wellsville, MO; brother, Donald Lorne Poindexter and wife, Tonya, of Montgomery City, MO; two nephews: Casey Lee Poindexter and wife, Jennifer of Montgomery City, MO; and Lukas Don Poindexter of Jupiter, FL; and her numerous friends.

Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents: Harold and Eileen Payne and Don and Elnora Poindexter.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Bethel Methodist Church in rural Wellsville, MO. The Reverend John Ray will officiate and interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO   63361.
