Sylvia Lee Young, 74, of Montgomery City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at her home.

She was born on December 20, 1950, in Farber, Missouri, to Marion Burts and Emma (Browning) Burts.

Sylvia worked at the nursing home in Wellsville, Missouri, where she was employed in the laundry department. She truly enjoyed her work and took pride in what she did.

A devoted family woman, Sylvia loved her family deeply. She especially cherished staying connected with her loved ones and could often be found talking on the phone, keeping in close touch with her sisters. Her caring nature and love for family were central to her life.

Sylvia will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her enjoyment of simple moments, and the genuine care she showed to those around her.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Colby Pitzer; grandchildren: Alyssa Pitzer, Brody Pitzer, Blake Pitzer, Chloe Pitzer, and Jameson Pitzer, all of Montgomery City; and her sisters: Audrey Cullom, Virginia "Ginger" Morgan, Elizabeth "Betty" Monnig, and Alice Bradley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Emma Burts, siblings: Della Mae Browning, Shirley Jean Browning, and Donald Browning, and her step-brother, Marion Lewis Burts.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Wellsville Cemetery with Kevin Wilkerson officiating.
