Stephen Henry Strauss, 57, of Bellflower, MO, died on Monday, December 24, 2018, at his home surrounded by family.

Stephen Henry Strauss was born April 14, 1961 in Troy, MO, to Joseph Anthony Strauss and Evelyn Elizabeth Happe Strauss. He married Marlene Elizabeth Grooms on August 31, 2003. Stephen was raised in the Catholic Faith, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a hard worker who loved to farm.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Marlene Elizabeth Grooms Strauss of the home; two sons: David Lee Strauss of the home and Andrew Stephen Strauss and friend, Tonya Marshall of Wellsville, MO; his Mother, Evelyn Elizabeth Happe Strauss of Montgomery City, MO; two granddaughters: Destiny Carolyn Stauffacher and Travie Christine Stauffacher; sisters: Della Marie Hill and husband, Jim, of Hermann, MO; Karen Ann Struttmann and husband, Wayne, of Rhineland, MO; and Evelyn Mary Kempf and husband, John, of Montgomery City, MO; and one brother, Joseph "Butch" Anthony Strauss and wife, Keilgh, of Mexico, MO. Also surviving is his Mother-in-law, Vivian Grooms of Centralia, MO; Sisters-in-law: Rita Lutz and husband, Jeff, of Centralia, MO; and Gina Roundtree and husband, Kenny, of Lebanon, MO; Brothers-in-law: Raymond Grooms of Mexico, MO; James Grooms and wife, Marsha, of Mexico, MO; and Curtis Grooms and wife, Shurie, of Auxvasse, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Anthony Strauss and one sister, Barbara Jean Gilbert.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Pastor David Korman officiated. Visitation was held on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Honorary Casketbearers included Randy Rodgers, Darrell Rodgers, Luke Rodgers, Adam Rodgers, Jake Rodgers, Andy Ludy, Travis Ludy, and Curtis Rodgers.
