Shirley Jean Adams, 84, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023, at St. Andrews at New Florence Nursing and Care Center, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2023, 12-2:00 pm at Schlanker Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm, followed by interment at Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, Missouri.

Shirley was born October 27, 1938 in Montgomery City, Missouri, to Walter and Helen (Appleby) Burchfield. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a devoted Christian and active in her church, teaching Sunday school and playing the piano. She enjoyed listening to music, singing and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gerald Wayne Burchfield, sister Viola Marie Burchfield, daughter-in-law Patricia Ann Adams and granddaughter Jessica Dawn Smart.

She is survived by her children; Deborah Lynn (John) Gambert, Sharon Ann Condray, Patricia Susan (Wayne) Leonard, Richard Lawrence (Gayle) Adams, Marsha Gay (Roy) Cope, Matthew Vaughn (Jennie) Adams, Brent Shawn (Michelle) Adams, Angela Dawn Vance, and grandchildren; Lauren, Steven, Julie, Wendy, Whitney, Ariel, Frank, Luke, Dominick, Zac, Zane, Jennifer, Alan, Ricky, Angie, Sarah, Amy, Michael, Austen, Aysia, and Graham, and many great and great great grandchildren, along with numerous extended family and friends. Shirley will also be remembered by many friends, and staff at St. Andrews New Florence where she lived for over 20 years.
