We are here today to worship God, and to remember and give thanks for the earthly life of our friend and loved one, Ruth Young, whom God has taken to be with Him.

Ruth Esther Young, 90, of Fulton, MO, died on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Boone Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, MO, surrounded by family.

Ruth Esther Young was born on December 18, 1930, in New Florence, MO, to Harvey P. Fry and Bessie Brower Fry.  She married Kenneth Wayne Young in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2003.  She had worked as a clerk for the City of New Florence; was a bookkeeper for Harbisonwalker and retired from Fulton School as a cook. Mrs. Young was a member of the Church of God Holiness in Fulton, MO; was a great homemaker, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, enjoyed reading her Bible, teaching Sunday School to children and adults, and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Young is survived by four sons:  Ralph Wayne Young and wife, Betty, of New Florence, MO; Howard David Young and wife, Glinda, of Fulton, MO; Gerald Lynn Young of Fulton, MO; and Kenneth Dale Young of Mokane, MO; grandchildren: Sarah Chilton and husband, Jonathan, Daniel Young and wife, Jessica, Kenny Michael Young and wife, Miranda,  Kala Reanne Young, Kristina Renae Young, and Ryan Adam Young; great-grandchildren:  Cooper and Emmy Chilton; Lucy and Layla Young;  Kaden Alexander Billups, Kai Quamari Billups, Neeko Young, TK Young, and Katelynn Young; sisters and brother:  Dolly, Jewell and John Fry; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Wayne Young; grandson, Clint Young; and several sisters and brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  The Reverend John Brumagin will officiate and interment will be in the New Florence Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  Casketbearers include Ryan Young, Daniel Young, Sarah Chilton, Kala Young, Dave Goretzke; Kenneth Young; Kristina Young and Gerald Young.
