Rita Marie Eoff Newsom, 56, of Warrenton, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri.

Funeral Services were at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City with Pastor Steven Kohler officiating. Burial followed in Montgomery City Cemetery.

Visitation was Monday from 12 noon until time of services at the funeral home.

Rita was born on September 25, 1963 in Olney, Missouri, the daughter of David Russell Eoff Sr. and Shirley Jean (Cullins) Eoff. On February 17, 1979 in Williamsburg, she married Walter W. Newsom. He survives.

Mrs. Newsom had worked at Jack-in-the-box and as a loan officer for Courtesy Loan, both in Warrenton. She had also attended Creekside Place Church in Warrenton.

Rita enjoyed puzzle books and camping. She was a Nascar fan and attended races at Talladega for many years. She also collected salt and pepper shakers. Above all, she dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Newsom of the home; one son, Brian Newsom of Warrenton; one daughter, Tabitha (Nathan) Whelchel of Warrenton; five grandchildren, Makenzey Newsom, Shane Pearce, Russell Newsom, Paedyn Newsom and Robert Newsom; and five brothers, James Dean Eoff of Montgomery City, Daniel Dale Eoff of Warrenton, Duane Edgar (Jill) Eoff of Moberly, Christopher Wayne (Sarah) Eoff of Montgomery City and Adam Michael (Jacqueline) Eoff of Montgomery City.

Rita was preceded in death by her father, David Russell Eoff Sr.; her mother, Shirley Jean Cullins; and two brothers, David Russell Eoff Jr. and Paul Richard Eoff.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Both may be sent in care of Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361.
