Richard Yarbrough Jones of Montgomery City, MO passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021, with family by his side.

Richard was born on February 2 ^nd , 1939, in Ft. Myers, Florida.  Richard joins his wife and one true love, Jean Shirley (Andersen) Jones, in Heaven.   He was preceded in death by his father, David Edison Jones, Senior, his mother Martha Florence (Yarbrough) Jones, and his brother David Edison Jones, Junior.

Richard is survived by his brother Robert Jones, and children Benjamin Jones and wife Carmen, Andrew Jones and wife Mary, and Emily (Jones) West and husband Raymond.

Richard was blessed with a large family, including 15 grandchildren, 6 of whom are married and several more who soon will be.  He was further blessed with 10 great grandchildren.  Family gatherings at his Montgomery City home were times of great joy, love, laughter and wonderful chaos.

Richard retired from Purina Mills in Montgomery City in 1996, as a Manager of Financial Services.  He spent most of his career at Purina working with regional Purina feed dealers to provide ag credit to local farmers.  Richard also owned two rental properties and was known as a kind and fair landlord.

Richard was active in his local community, serving as Mayor of Montgomery City from 1982-1990.  Richard also served on the Montgomery County R-2 school board and was active in the Montgomery County Rotary Club.

Richard loved woodworking, raising tropical fish, reading, traveling, and spending time with his wife and family.  Richard and Jean lived at the same home on East Second Street for more than 50 years and often could be seen working in their yard and enjoying life.  Richard and Jean were members and were active in the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in Montgomery City.  Richard's last two years were spent at The Boulevard in Wentzville to be closer to his family.

Richard's children and grandchildren would like to thank everyone who provided kind words and prayers to the family.  Your shared memories of Richard and his life well-lived provided welcome comfort.

In lieu of a funeral service the family will hold a private remembrance service at a later date.
