Richard Dennis Howell Sr., 81, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Montgomery City, Missouri.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Reach Church, 100 Chamber Rd, Montgomery City, Missouri 63361. Followed by Inurnment at Cannon Cemetery on Turkey Creek Road in Hawk Point, Missouri.
Richard was born on March 7, 1942 in Pacific, Missouri to Robert and Vivian(Mitchell) Howell.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He retired from the U.S. Army after 11 years of service then worked as a youth specialist and supervisor. He was a recipient of an Honor Flight for Vietnam Veterans and a proud lifetime member of The Disabled American Veterans. Despite battling many health issues over the years, he remained in good spirits. He was a hard worker and adored his family, Richard will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Vivian, his sister; Ruby Marie Rainwater, and his son; Timothy Martin Howell.
He is survived by his wife Betty (Brown) Howell, five children; Deborah (Elmer) Riegel, Richard Dennis Howell Jr, Cynthia Ann Howell, Jaime (Dereks) Deichmann, and Jason Davis, thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren along with numerous extended friends and family.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cannon Cemetery or to the Reach Church, c/o Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361.
