Reverend David Leon Knight, 62, of New Florence, MO, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the SSM St. Joseph West Hospital at Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

David Leon Knight was born March 25, 1957 in Lenwood, CA to John Carl Knight and Nellie Belle Brown Knight. He married Judith Joanne Rogers on December 21, 1979 in Independence, KS, and they had just celebrated their 40 th wedding anniversary. Reverend Knight was the minister at the Bible Holiness Church in New Florence for many years.   He also worked odd jobs helping other people, enjoyed music and visiting, telling stories and joking around with his friends and family. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Reverend Knight loved his family and will be dearly missed.

Reverend Knight is survived by his wife, Judith Joanne Rogers Knight of New Florence, MO; his children: Dacia Schwab and husband, Jason, of Ottawa, KS; Colin Knight and wife, Faith, of Independence, KS; and Janae Farless and husband, Brad, of Frankfort, Indiana; nine grandchildren: Kyson, Jolie, Lynessa, Keagan, Jayden, Jaren, Autumn, Cohen, and Gracelyn; step-mother, Mary Knight of Buell, MO; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Reverend Wayne Rogers and wife, Donna, of New Florence, MO; sister, Deborah McIntire of Bartlesville, OK; brother, Philip Knight and wife, Kerrie, of Neosho, MO; step-brother, Marty Fuller and wife, Barb, of Montgomery City, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Reverend Knight was preceded in death by his parents, John Carl and Nellie Belle Brown Knight.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Interment was in the New Florence Cemetery in New Florence, MO. Visitation was held on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.
