Phyllis Anne Rodgers Bernat, 75, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her daughter's home in Crossville, Tennessee.

Phyllis Anne Rodgers Bernat was born March 14, 1942, in rural Montgomery County, MO. She was the daughter of Manley and Betty Marie Rhoads Rodgers. On October 8, 1961 she married Otto Lewis Bernat and to this union two children were born: Christina Ann and Eric Wayne Bernat.

Phyllis and Otto spent their days working and running New Florence Lumber Company, Fairway Lumber, The ONI Shop, and many other business ventures. Phyllis enjoyed collecting antiques, trading life stories, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Bernat is survived by her daughter, Christina Ann Ford, of Crossville, TN; and daughter-in-law, Billie Bernat of Montgomery City, MO; grandchildren: Heather Schmidt and husband, Ben, of Bellflower, MO; Rodney Bernat and wife, Destiny, of Montgomery City, MO; Jason, Travis and Crystal Ford of Crossville, TN , Dustin Kirkpatrick and Dillon Kirkpatrick of Montgomery City, MO; Raven and Zoe Grennan of Montgomery City, MO; Destiny Million of Peidmont, MO; and Megan Kaempfe and husband, Lance, of Peidmont, MO. Also surviving are great-grandchildren: Sophia, Payton, Nova, Dakota, Heaven, Ariann, and Cypress.

Mrs. Bernat was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Lewis Bernat; son, Eric Wayne Bernat; and her parents.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the First United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Ed Hankinson and the Reverend Darrel Deeker officiated and interment was in the Montgomery City Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the First United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers included Rodney Bernat, Ben Schmidt, Travis Ford, Dustin Kirkpatrick,Tom Nichols, Todd Hemeyer, and Adam Brittingham. Honorary casketbearers included Mitzi Nichols, Tracy Hoffmann, Dorothy Torbeck, Susie Keithley, Amy Bishop, Londa Swoboda, Joyce Forrest, and Jackie Ison.
