Patricia Ruth (Zumwalt) Cochran, 87, of Butler, Missouri, peacefully passed away on January 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.

Born July 23, 1938, in Bearcreek, Missouri, Pat was the second of seven children to Ivin Clark and Margaret Ruth Zumwalt. She attended schools in High Hill, Americus, and Mineola before graduating from Montgomery County High School in 1956.

On September 24, 1957, Pat married Howard Cochran, beginning a partnership that would span 50 years. Their journey took them from Montgomery City, Missouri to Lander, Wyoming, and then back to Missouri, where they settled in Wentzville and later Warrenton. In the early 1970's they purchased The Windsor Review in Windsor, Missouri, which they operated for many years. Following Howard's passing in 2007, Pat continued to call Windsor home until 2021, when she moved to Rhineland to be with her son Mark and his family.

Throughout her life, Pat balanced her roles as a devoted mother as well as bookkeeper and proofreader in the family business. She found joy in attending her six children's sporting events and school activities, doing so for nearly two decades. Her pride in her children and grandchildren was palpable, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

An avid reader throughout her life, Pat faced the challenge of vision loss in her later years, but her love for stories never waned. She found happiness in family gatherings and remained a steadfast support to those she loved.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; parents, Ivin and Margaret; sisters, Shirley, Sandy, Janice, and Donna; daughter, Colette; and granddaughter, Amy.

She is survived by her brothers, Charles (Glinda) Zumwalt of Bend, Oregon, and Ivin (Mary) Zumwalt of Hermann, Missouri; her children, Mark (Nancy) of Rhineland, Missouri, Jeffery (Tracy) of Woodbury, New Jersey, Christopher (Sheryl) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Matthew (Karen) of Butler, Missouri, and Jonathan of Warrensburg, Missouri; her grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Hayley, Ty, Emmy, Josh, Drew, Adam, and Aaron; and great-grandchildren, Amy Sue, Colette, and Lainey, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Missouri on Saturday, January 17 with visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 PM and funeral to follow.
