Norma Jean Hill Carr, 87, of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Mexico and Middletown, MO, died on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, MO.
Norma Jean Hill Carr was born September 12, 1928 in Buell, MO, to Samuel A. Hill and Olean Ella Seale Hill. Norma was married to John Carr and to this union two children were born, Deborah and John. Ms. Carr was a member of the Teamsters Union in St. Louis and was a Vending Hostess in the St. Louis area. Ms. Carr was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed having a nice home, enjoyed needlepoint and embroidery work, especially embroidering quilts, and loved sitting outdoors and watching the wildlife. Ms. Carr loved spending time with her family and her many friends at JC Fairgrounds.
Ms. Carr is survived by two children: Debbie Tankersley Araiza and husband, Mike, of St. Peters, MO, and John W. Carr, Jr. of Dallas, TX; one grandson,, Chad Tankersley of St. Peters, MO; one granddaughter, Christine Werlinich and husband, Josh, of Alburn, WA; and one great-granddaughter, Juliana Werlinich of Alburn, WA. Also surviving are her niece, Shirley Sproull and husband, Bill, of St. Charles, MO; and nephew, Dean Wille and wife, Laura, of Middletown, and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Ms. Carr was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Helen Wille.
Funeral services were held at Noon on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Visitation was held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday at the Schlanker Funeral Home. The Reverend Ed Hankinson officiated and interment was in the Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown, MO. Casketbearers included John Carr, Chad Tankersley, Terry Carr, Dean Willie, Bill Sproull and Tim Sproull.
