Naomi Fay English, 90, of Mexico, formerly of New Florence, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital – Audrain in Mexico.

Naomi was born Feb. 3, 1927 in New Florence, the daughter of Noah C. and Mabel L. (See) Bethel. On May 12, 1945, she married Gus Zumwalt and he preceded her in death. She then married Owen V. Burgess on March 28, 1964 and he passed away on October 10, 1982. Then on June 8, 1985, she married Lloyd W. English and he preceded her in death.

In 1947, Naomi was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Montgomery City and graduated from Montgomery County Schools. She and her husband, Gus, ran the Junction Café. She also taught at Cosmetology Schools in St. Louis and Mexico. Mrs. English had also owned a beauty shop in Jonesburg.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husbands, Naomi was preceded in death by one son, William M. Zumwalt; five brothers, Irvin, Garland, Richard, Carl and Donald Bethel; and one sister, Mary Bethel.
