Nancy Louise Stewart, 88, of Auxvasse, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2026. She was born on July 8, 1938, in Jackson, Tennessee, to James F. Tate and Elsie L. (Barnes) Tate.

Throughout her working career, Nancy was a strong and determined woman who started and successfully operated several businesses. She was hardworking, independent, and never afraid to pursue a new opportunity. Her accomplishments were many, but the impact she had on the people around her was perhaps her greatest achievement.

Nancy had a heart for giving and was an exceptionally charitable and selfless woman. She had a genuine concern for others and often thought of their needs before her own. Whether through a kind gesture, a helping hand, or simply being there for someone, Nancy gave freely of herself and expected nothing in return. Her generosity was not limited to those she knew—she had a way of making people feel cared for, valued, and welcome. Her kindness left a lasting impression on countless people throughout her life.

Nancy never knew a stranger. She made friends wherever she went and had the remarkable ability to connect with people of all ages. She was classy but also a little sassy, with a personality all her own. She was confident, caring, fun-loving, and truly one of a kind. Those fortunate enough to know Nancy will remember not only her strong spirit and quick wit, but especially the warmth and generosity she showed to others.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed fishing, spending time on the golf course, and bowling. In her younger years, she proudly belonged to a bowling team and enjoyed the friendships and good times that came with it.

Nancy lived a life filled with hard work, friendship, generosity, and love for others. She had a rare gift for making people feel like they mattered, and her giving spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Nancy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

Nancy is survived by her children: Audrey Frentzel of Big Spring, MO, Ray Stewart of Wright City, MO, Rita Stewart of Montgomery City, MO; grandchildren: Christen Carey of Big Spring, MO, Jennifer Slaughter of Jonesburg, MO, Jayson Wilke of St. Charles, MO, Seana (Clifton Kuntz) Stewart of Wentzville, MO, Katie Lynn (Ben) Longstreet of Portland, OR, Blake Brown of Montgomery City, MO, Jacob Brown of Montgomery City, MO; great-grandchildren: Dominic Norwood of Pittsburgh, PA, Sean Ball of St. Charles, MO, Chrissy Stewart of Overland Park, KS, Liam Kuntz of Wentzville, MO, Owen Brown of Montgomery City, MO, and Gracelynn Brown of Montgomery City, MO.
