Mollie Jane Howe, 89, of Montgomery City, Missouri, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Wilshire at Lakewood Rehab Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Mollie was born on October 4, 1934, in Ellington, Missouri, to Doyle and Wilma (Patterson) Fitzgerald. She graduated from LaPlata High School in LaPlata, Missouri in 1952. On August 1, 1952, she married Ray Collinson White. Together they raised two loving sons, Stephen Ray and Gregory Lewis White. Ray preceded her in death on November 15, 1996. Later in life she married Dr. Claude Howe of Picayune, Mississippi. They were married on April 15, 2001. Mr. Howe also preceded Mollie in death on November 8, 2007.
Mrs. Howe worked for many years as a receptionist at the Mercantile Bank in Montgomery City. She was a devoted member of the Mineola Baptist Church, and a member of the unofficial club named the "Birthday Girls." Mrs. Howe enjoyed visiting with friends, decorating her home, reading, and learning.
Mollie is survived by her two sons: Stephen Ray (Renee) White, of Lee's Summit, MO, and Gregory Lewis (Mary) White, of Lee's Summit, MO; her four grandchildren: Mackenzie Rae (Dillon) Crockett, of Kansas City, MO, Andrew (Rebekah) White, of Montgomery City, MO, Samuel White, of Mineola, MO, and Benjamin White, of Lee's Summit, MO; one brother: Dan (Debbie) Gant, of Lee's Summit, MO; and one sister: Laura (Brent) Nelson, of Henderson, NV.
Mrs. Howe was preceded in death by her parents: Doyle Fitzgerald and Wilma Gant; her husband: Ray C. White; her husband: Dr. Claude L. Howe; her three brothers: Charles Gant, William Gant, and Stanely Gant; and two sisters: Peggy Thorne, and Nancy Moore.
A Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the Mineola Baptist Church in Mineola, Missouri on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
The Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Jim Cline officiating.
Interment will follow in the Montgomery City Cemetery. Casket bearers include Mackenzie Rae Crockett, Andrew White, Samuel White, Benjamin White, Jason Cline, Stacie Carroz, and Katie Goodwin. Honorary Casket bearers will be Dillon Crockett, and Rebekah White.
