Mildred Louise Huffman Stiegmann Starr, 92, of Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Montgomery City, MO, died on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Benton House of Blue Springs, MO, surrounded by family.
Mildred Louise Huffman Stiegmann Starr was born May 29, 1927 in Maplewood, MO, to Jake Huffman and Nellie Gallagher Huffman. She graduated from Montgomery City High School in 1946 and attended one year of college. She married J. H. Stiegmann on January 2, 1947 in Montgomery City, MO, and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1970. She later married Robert Starr on November 24, 1974 in Montgomery City, MO, and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2011. Mrs. Starr was a member of the Montgomery City Christian Church, worked at the Montgomery City Christian Church Clothes Closet; and enjoyed painting and quilting. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Starr is survived by her children: Diana Sue Stiegmann Watson and husband, Floyd, of Jefferson City, MO; Patricia Ann Stiegmann Bergstrom and husband, Marc, of Parkville, MO; Beverly Jayne Stiegmann Dudley and husband, Tony, of Kansas City, MO; and Robert Henry Stiegmann and wife, Lori, of Bethel Springs, TN. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Betty Parsons and Nellie Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Starr was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Nellie Huffman; husband, J. H. Stiegmann; husband, Robert Starr; one granddaughter; one grandson, one son-in-law, one sister, and three brothers.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 2, 2019, at Noon at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Interment was in the Montgomery City Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Casketbearers included Micheal Watson, Joshua Hedges, Lee Carver, Tyler Bergstrom, Caleb Watson and Joshua Gordon and Honorary Casketbearer included Travis Dudley.
