Michael Vincent Smith, 70, of rural Montgomery City, MO, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his home.

Michael Vincent Smith was born December 6, 1946 in Long Island, NY, to William Charles Smith and Juanita Huett Smith Aubuchon. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army. Mr. Smith was a retired Veteran of the United States Army serving in the 101st Air Borne Rangers serving in the Vietnam War. He received many awards and metals including the Silver SVC star, a Bronze SVC star, and Purple Hearts. After retirement he worked for the United States Postal Service in the Ferguson, MO, area until he retired. Mr. Smith married Judith Throgmorton Haynes on March 7, 2003 in Hermann, MO, and were about to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Judith Throgmorton Haynes Smith, of rural Montgomery City, MO; three children: Tara Cooksey-Meeks; Mike Smith; and Andrew Smith and wife, Tasheana; step-children: Michael Haynes and wife, Christie; Melinda Dunakey and husband, Nathan; and Amy Davidson and husband, Russ; grandchildren: Riann Decker; Jaxon Meeks, Michael A. Smith, Jr and wife, Megan; Colin and Kyle Haynes; Karah and Ethan Dunakey; and Payton and Lance Davidson; and great-grand-child: Xavier Smith. Mr. Smith is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Ken Aubuchon and wife, Susan; Donna Laughlin and husband, Patrick; and David Aubuchon; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, William Charles Smith and Juanita Huett Smith Aubuchon.

Mr. Smith was cremated and services will be held at a later date.
