Melvin Eugene Clardy, 85, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.

Melvin Eugene Clardy was born August 8, 1937 in New Florence, MO, to John Elvin Clardy and Jessie Hilda Wright Clardy. Mr. Clardy was a Veteran of the United State Army serving from October 6, 1960 until October 5, 1962.  He married Mary Angela Hinton on June 16, 1962 in Louisville, KY. Mr. Clardy retired for Ralston Purina where he worked as a pellet mill operator.  He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and picking nuts.  He was a wonderful husband, step-father, brother and friend.

Mr. Clardy is survived by his step-children:  Mary Ann (Steve), Susan, Gerdy, and Donna; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.  Also surviving are several dear friends Sylvia Hinton; Gary Schied and Edwin Schied.

Mr. Clardy was preceded in death by his parents, John Elvin Clardy and Jessie Hilda Wright Clardy; his wife, Mary Angela Hinton Clardy; brothers:  James Edward Clardy and Marvin Earnest Clardy and sisters:  Nellie Mae Cullom and Carol Jean Cole.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the Montgomery City Cemetery. The Reverend Lynn Quist will officiate.  No visitation will be held.
