Melvin Williams Blaue of Montgomery City, Missouri, passed away on June 3, 2023, at the age of 88.

Melvin was born on March 3, 1935, in Wellsville, Missouri, to Alfred and Emma (Williams) Blaue. He graduated from Wellsville High School and went on to serve a total of six years in the Missouri Army National Guard. He served three years active working as a cook and three years in the reserves. Melvin was Baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wellsville, and was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville. He has since remained a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church. On August 24, 2002, at Grace Lutheran, he married his loving wife, Marjorie (Freie) Blaue.

Mr. Blaue worked at the Wellsville Fire Brick Company for many years until his retirement. He also farmed and had a great fondness for restoring old tractors. He was a talented woodworker, enjoyed motorcycles, boating at Mark Twain, and he loved to travel with his loving wife, Marjorie. Melvin had a great sense of humor, was known for his kind and gentle soul, and will be missed dearly.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Freie) Blaue; stepson, Karl (Tammy) Baker of Montgomery City, Missouri; eight step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; nieces: Linda (Sam) Smith of Irvington, Illinois and their families, and Lisa (Kevin) Knipfel of Jonesburg, Missouri and their families; sisters-in-law: Carroll McDermit of Mexico, Missouri, Janet (Charles) Schaefer of Montgomery City, Missouri; brothers-in-law: Jim (Lyn) Freie of Seymour, Missouri, and Ed Carline of Montgomery City, Missouri; and a host of cousins.
Mr. Blaue was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Emma Blaue; infant brother, Norman; sister, Jeanette Carline; stepdaughter, Nancy Morris; and great niece, Laura Smith.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville, Missouri, with Reverend Luke Wolters officiating. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow at Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, Missouri. Pallbearers include Karl Baker, John Baker, Zachary Baker, Isaiah Baker, Kevin Knipfel, and Ryan Knipfel.
