Mary K. Nance, 95, of Williamsburg, MO, died early on Sunday morning, February 14, 2016, at the New Florence Nursing and Care Center in New Florence, MO.

Mary Katherine Nance was born October 20, 1920 in Dermott, Arkansas to John Ensminger and Hannah Schultz Ensminger. She graduated from McGehee High School in McGehee, Arkansas in 1938 and then attended college for a period of time. Ms. Nance worked for Western Union, but in her later years was the head cook and baker at the University of Warrensburg in Warrensburg, MO. Ms. Nance was a member of the Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg, MO; a member of the Williamsburg Quilting Club, a member of the Williamsburg Ladies Club, and a former member of the Red Hatters Society. She was a very hard worker raising seven children and working full time. She was a master quilter, was an avid reader, and she loved to fish, bake bread, can green beans, garden, play bingo, play cards, buy lottery tickets, knit and crochet. Ms. Nance loved spending time with her family and friends.

Ms. Nance is survived by her seven children: Nancy Ann Cerutti and husband, Lou, of Escondido, CA; Marilynn Horobec and husband, Jim, of Raymondville, MO; Danny Nance of Warrensburg, MO; Pamela Ostrowski and husband, Michael, of Kansas City, MO; Jan Gray and husband, Steve, of Williamsburg, MO; Leslie Nance of Allen, TX; and Karl Nance and wife, Tammy, of Grand Island, Nebraska. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous, nieces, nephews and friends.

Ms. Nance was preceded in death by her parents John and Hannah Schultz Ensminger and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the Schlanker Funeral Home, in Montgomery City, MO. Visitation was on Wednesday from Noon until the time of the funeral at Schlanker Funeral Home. Interment was in Mt. Horeb Cemetery near Williamsburg, MO. Casketbearers included Steve Gray, Karl Nance, David Nance, Brian Smith, Michael Ostrowski, and Chad Kimbley.
