Mary Jean "Grandma Jo" Czerniewski, 92, of Montgomery City, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

Jo was born on June 17, 1932, in St. Louis. She was the daughter of Mark and Gertrude (Mattmann) Brown. She was wed to Richard Adam Czerniewski, Sr. on June 24, 1950, at St. Margaret's of Scotland in St. Louis. They were married for 54 loving years before Richard's passing on October 17, 2004.

She enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play sports, cooking, baking, camping, fishing, watching the birds, watching football (49ers fan), scrapbooking, and her twinkies. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Jo is survived by her three sons: Richard Adam Czerniewski, Jr. and wife, Donna, of Perry, Missouri, Greg Czerniewski and wife, Lu, of Montgomery City, Missouri, Kevin Czerniewski and wife, Lisa, of Wright City, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Mike Czerniewski, Heather Breakfield, Jennifer Eckert, Veronica Klaus, Samantha Roberts, Eric Czerniewski, Zac Czerniewski, Adam Czerniewski; seventeen great-grandchildren: Madaline, Harleigh, Jaxson, Holly, Kaylee, Christopher, Melaynee, Ella, Zoe, Adeline, Emma, Greenlee, Emmitt, Maveric, William, Paislee, Sawyer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Czerniewski, Sr., her parents, Mark and Gertrude Brown, and her siblings: Dorothy, Virginia, Katie, Martin, Robert, and Jerry.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Missouri, with Reverend Kevin Wilkerson officiating. A private family burial will follow with her eight grandchildren as casketbearers.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Schlanker Funeral Home, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
