Mary J. Ison, 81, of rural Montgomery City, MO, died on Sunday, February 5, 2017, at her home.
Mary Jean Ison was born July 31, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Paul Blasingame and Josephine McDonnell Blasingame. She married Donald Lee Ison on January 27, 1953 in Jennings, MO. Don and Mary started their family and lived in Florissant, MO, until 1975, when they moved three miles east of Williamsburg, MO. Mrs. Ison had several jobs, she worked at Sears and later at the Williamsburg Truck Stop, but she was a wonderful homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Red Hatters, the Williamsburg Ladies Club, the Williamsburg Community Center, and Volunteered a lot at the Williamsburg/Calwood Lions Club. Mrs. Ison also collected Coca Cola items, statues of old Colonial People, and enjoyed being with her Sisters.
Mrs. Ison is survived by two children: Denise Ison of rural Montgomery City, MO; and Dion Ison and wife, Jackie, of Williamsburg, MO; daughter-in-law, Natalie Ison of Montgomery City, MO; six grandchildren: William Emmet Ison and wife, Ashley; Elizabeth Diane Voltmer; Justin Lee Ison; Mary Catherine "Catie" Ison (Peyton Evers); Donald Matthew Ison and wife, Christiana; and Ginney Lin Ison; and three great-grandchildren: Zoey, Audrey, and Olive. Also surviving are two sisters: Paula Mitchell of O'Fallon, MO; and Diane Dalton and husband, Jim, of O'Fallon, MO; one brother, Paul Jude Blasingame of Illinois; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Kathy Blasingame of Florissant, MO; Pat and Larry Bauer of O'Fallon, MO; Bill and Sandy Ison of California; David and Becky Ison of St. Louis, MO; and Ronnie Loesing of O'Fallon, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Ison was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Lee Ison; son, Donald James Ison; two sisters: Kate and Sally Loesing; two brothers: Joe and David Blasingame; and a brother-in-law, Al Mitchell.
Memorial services were held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Bruce Williamson officiated. The family received friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.
