Mary Lillian Upton, 76, of Jonesburg, MO, formerly of Montgomery City, MO, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO.

Mary Amrein Upton was born December 28, 1939 in Foristell, MO, to Franklin Amrein and Mildred Teckemeier Amrein. She graduated from Wentzville High School and later graduated from Hickey Business School in St. Louis, MO. Mary had married Jean M. Upton and he preceded her in death in 2005. She later met Leroy Wright of Montgomery City, MO, who is a very special friend of hers. Mary attended the First United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in Montgomery City, MO; she was a Lady Shriner, and enjoyed reading, doing cross-stitch, and working in her yard. She loved spending time with all her family and friends.

Mrs. Upton is survived by her children: Elizabeth A. Schulze and husband, Gerald, of Montgomery City, MO; Amy L. Perkins and husband, Fred, of Gerald, MO; Laurie L. Upton of Ithica, NY; Jo Eagan and husband, Michael, of Springfield, MO; and Nellie J. Hearn and husband, Lloyd (Butch) of Wentzville, MO; Grandchildren: Sara Schulze; Amanda Schulze; Emily Dencker and husband, Sam; Esslie Perkins; Molly Eagan, and step-grandson, Christopher Hearn; great-grandchildren: Ethnie, Jacob, and soon to come Sadie Rose. Also surviving is her special friend, Leroy Wright of Montgomery City, MO; her two brothers and one sister: Elwood Amrein, David Amrein and Elaine Buenemann and husband, Jerry; and numerous nieces nephews and friends.

Mrs. Upton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jean M. Upton; one daughter, Pamela J. Upton and one brother, James Amrein.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The family received friends on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. The Reverend Jim Guffie officiated.
