Marvin Bernard Griesbauer, 84, formerly of New Florence, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Cedarhurst Assisted Living in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Marvin was born in O'Fallon, Missouri, on January 18, 1940, the son of Frank Griesbauer and Caroline (Hakenewerth) Griesbauer. He graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1957. He married Ethel Lucille Gipson on August 19, 1961. They were married for 62 loving years before his passing.

Marvin worked for the Ralston Purina Company for 34 years. He also had a small farm where he enjoyed working the fields on his Super H tractor until he sold his farmland in the late 1970's. Marvin enjoyed laughing and that is probably why he got the nickname "Smiley". He enjoyed working his large garden every year and volunteering for the Knights of Columbus, Optimists Club and truly enjoyed cooking BBQ Pork Burgers at the Montgomery County Old Threshers show and the Montgomery County Fair. His children and grandchildren brought great joy and laughter to his life, and they will all miss him dearly.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Ethel Lucille (Gipson) Griesbauer of the home; two sons, Michael (Cindy) Griesbauer and Douglas Griesbauer, both of Independence, Missouri; grandchildren: Shelby (Travis) Ritchie, Mikayla Griesbauer, Erin Griesbauer, John (Kelsi) Griesbauer, Stephan Griesbauer, and Blake Griesbauer; 2 great-grandchildren Lyla Griesbauer, and Mia Griesbauer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Caroline Griesbauer, son, Melvin B. Griesbauer, and siblings: Francis Griesbauer, Arthur Griesbauer, Dorothy (Griesbauer) Lohman, Vernon Griesbauer, and Delores (Griesbauer) Gnade.
