Marshall Dale Murphy, 70, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, MO, his wife by his side.

Marshall Dale Murphy was born February 18, 1948 in St. Louis, MO, to Elmer Marshall Murphy and Mildred Ilene Prate Murphy. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines serving in Vietnam and receiving two Purple Hearts. Marshall married Sharon Raber Frame on August 4, 2014 in Bowling Green, MO. Marshall was a retired truck driver, enjoyed spending time with his friends at coffee, working on old cars, and attending car shows.

Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife, Sharon Raber Frame Murphy of Montgomery City, MO; two children: Kenneth Murphy of Colorado and Sarah Vuichard and husband, Jim, of Eureka, MO; grandchildren: Ella and Amelia; step-children: Chris Poindexter and wife, Rebecca; and Jason Frame; and step-grandchildren: Maggie Odom; Audrey Odom; Gavin Poindexter; Asher Poindexter; Devontae Frame; and Damien Frame. Also surviving are his sisters: Sharon Chism of St. Louis, MO; Patsy Chandler of Florida; half-sister, Maria Swiney; sister-in-law, Carol Main of Springfield, MO; special friend, Kurt Lauer of Jefferson City, MO; and numerous cousins and friends.

Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Murphy; half-brother, Billy Swiney; his parents, Elmer and Mildred Murphy and his parents-in-law, Lee and Mary Raber.

A Celebration of Life with full Military Honors will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the VFW Hall in Montgomery City, MO. The Rev. John Foster will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the VFW Hall in Montgomery City, MO.  Honorary Casketbearers Kurt Lauer, Brian West, Lloyd West, James Gilbert, Bob Brandenburg, Mike Brandenburg, Caleb Smith, and Dennis McMillan.
