Marion Haerer, 89, of New Florence, MO, died on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at his home surrounded by family.

Marion Haerer was born on April 11, 1930 in New Florence, MO, to Christian and Josephine Haerer. He graduated from Montgomery City High School and worked at Kaiser Manufacturing known now as National Manufacturing until he retired. Mr. Haerer was a laborer and then was a stock room clerk. Mr. Haerer married Dorothy Nell Johnson on August 14, 1971 and have been married for over 48 years. Mr. Haerer was a member of the Frist Baptist Church in Montgomery City, MO, and was also a Deacon. Dorothy and Marion enjoyed traveling and spending time with their many friends and family.

Mr. Haerer is survived by his wife, Dorothy Nell Johnson Haerer of the home; son, John Moore of O'Fallon, MO; grandchildren: Travis Moore of St. Peters and Ginger Weber and husband, Brian, of Wright City, MO; and two great-grandchildren: Gracelyn and Ava. Also surviving are many friends.

Mr. Haerer was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Josephine Haerer and three sisters.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Kenneth Parker officiated and interment was in the Hugo Cemetery in New Florence, MO. Visitation was held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the First Baptist Church.
