Margaret Sue Butler, 76, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in New Florence, Missouri, to Floyd Johnson, Sr., and Margaret M. Johnson. She was the fourth eldest out of ten children.

She graduated from North High School in Des Moines, Iowa, then spent her early employment with Equity Insurance Company. Later, she enrolled and graduated from professional cosmetology school where she worked as a beautician, opening her own business from her home, for twenty years.

She married her next-door neighbor and childhood sweetheart, Ralph M. Butler, on June 15, 1974. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Together, they raised their three children in the fear of the Lord. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother.

Margaret was a devoted Christian and attended Capital City Christian Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was an avid reader, often immersing herself in period pieces and true crime stories. She also spent a lot of her free time gardening, collecting figurines, and traveling to see her loved ones.

Margaret is preceded in death by both of her parents, her brothers Cecil Johnson and Percy Johnson, and her sister Jeannie Seeney (Johnson).

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Butler; son, Tyrone Butler; daughters, Celeste Bloomfield (Butler) and Rebecca Butler; three brothers, Donald Johnson, Floyd Johnson, Jr., and Richard Johnson; three sisters, Marie Williams (Johnson), Loretta Ferguson (Johnson), and Mary Gonder (Johnson); six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Missouri, with Reverend Donald Fankhouser officiating. Interment will follow in the Montgomery City Cemetery. Casketbearers include Derrick Johnson, Nathanial Ferguson, Marcus Brooks, Richard Johnson, Jordan Gonder, and Josiah Bloomfield. Honorary Casketbearers include Demetirus Ferguson. Sage Butler, Antonio Johnson, and Tate Butler.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at Schlanker Funeral Home.
