Mackenzie Alyce Hagemeier, 29, of Montgomery City, Missouri, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, October 11, 2024. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Mackenzie was born on August 28, 1995, in Audrain County to Carl Wright and Laura (Carter) Gilbert. She was a graduate of Montgomery County R-II High School, class of 2014, and she dedicated many years working alongside her mother at her bakery, Sugar and Spice Laura's Delights.

On August 10, 2019, Mackenzie married her soulmate, Brendon Hagemeier, at Little Piney Lodge in Big Spring, Missouri. The couple welcomed their beautiful son, Easton, in 2017, and Mackenzie cherished every moment spent with her family. Known for her vibrant spirit, she was always the life of the party. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, and loved to go fishing.

Mackenzie was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Mackenzie is survived by her loving husband, Brendon Hagemeier, and their son, Easton Hagemeier; father, Carl (Rita) Wright; mother, Laura (Arthur) Gilbert; brother, Justin (Megan) Wright; sister, Lauren (Cody) Fortmann; step-siblings: Robby (Michelle) Manetzke, Thomas Manetzke, Aaron (Sandy) Gilbert, Jackie (Adam) Rhodes; nieces and nephews: Cali Fortmann, Aden Fortmann, River Fortmann, Hunter Wright, Willow Wright, Simon Rhodes, Kallie Gilbert, Brooklyn Manetzke, Lincoln Manetzke; and many other extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Russell and Pauline Wright and David Carter.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at The Venue at Hermann in Hermann, Missouri, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
