Loyd Kenneth McCormick, 83, of St. Peters, MO, formerly of Montgomery City, MO, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the SSM St. Joseph Health Care in St. Charles, MO.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Steve Dillon will officiate and interment of ashes will be in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery, north of Montgomery City, MO.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 PM (Noon) until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  Honorary casketbearers include Tony Mattox, Gene Burch, George Boes and Jerry Hilkemeyer.

Loyd Kenneth McCormick was born on January 18, 1938 in Dexter, MO.  He was the son of the late Benjamen Levi McCormick and Emmer Almeda Lane McCormick.  He was married on November 8, 1980, to Beverly Sue Ecton.  The McCormick's were members of the Church of the Nazarene of Montgomery City, but when Mr. McCormick moved to be close to his children he started attending faithfully the Church of God Holiness.  Mr. McCormick worked for over 39 years in the sheet metal assembly line at McDonnell Douglas until he retired and later worked as a janitor for the Montgomery City Elementary School.  He loved going to church and loved to eat out (especially cheese burgers.)

Mr. McCormick is survived by five children:  Cathy Apponyi of AZ; Ronald McCormick and wife, Kaye, of St. Peters, MO; Donald McCormick and wife, Stephanie, of O'Fallon, MO; Dawn Renae Coffman of Jefferson City, MO; and Tammy Nilsen and husband, Keith, of St. Peters, MO.  He is survived by 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr. McCormick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Beverly Sue Ecton McCormick and by eight sisters and brothers:  Dorothy Coleman, Ruby Coleman, Eva Frank, Mildred Belcher, Ruth Woods, Wanda Williams, Orval McCormick and Ralph McCormick.
