Loyd D. Ellis, 68, of New Florence, MO, died on Monday, September 26, 2016, at his home in New Florence, MO.

Loyd Daniel Ellis was born October 27, 1947 in New Florence, MO, to Kermit A. Ellis, Sr. and Mary Louise Ritschard Ellis. He graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1968 and was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. Loyd married Carol Edwards on November 15, 1991 in Louisiana, Missouri and would have been married 25 wonderful years this November. Loyd retired from Henniges Automotive after working 30 years in the factory. He was a member of the Montgomery VFW Post and the American Legion; was active in Old Threshers; and a former member of the New Florence Fire Department. Loyd was a very hard worker and enjoyed visiting with all his family and his many friends.

Loyd is survived by his wife, Carol Edwards Ellis of New Florence, MO; one son, Charles Heller of New Florence, MO; two grandchildren: Kaden Heller and Olivia Jo Heller; one brother, Kermit A. Ellis, Jr. and wife, Mildred, of New Florence, MO; two sisters: Mary Lou Wright and Karen A. Ellis, both of Columbia, MO; sister-in-law, Jean Ellis of High Hill, MO; brother-in-law, John Keith from the state of Washington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Loyd was preceded in death by his parents: Kermit A. Ellis, Sr. and Mary Louise Ritschard Ellis; three brothers: Lester M. Ellis, John D. Ellis, Robert E. "Bob" Ellis; sister, Ruth P. Keith; sister-in-law, Helen Delores Ellis; and brother-in-law, Henry Wright.

Mr. Ellis was cremated and there was a memorial service at the New Florence Community Building on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 2:00 PM.
