Lloyd L. West, Jr., 82 of Montgomery City, MO, died on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Boone Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, MO, surrounded by family.

Lloyd LaVern West, Jr. was born on September 11, 1940 in Hayes Center, Nebraska to Lloyd LaVern West and Louise Goulette West.  After graduating from high school he served in the United States Marines from January 30, 1959 until February 21, 1963.  Lloyd married Karala Kitchen on August 19, 1967 in Puxico, Missouri and have been married over 55 wonderful years.  Lloyd worked with the civil service first as a Soil Conservation Agent and then with the United States Postal Service until he retired.  After retirement he was self-employed electrician.  Lloyd enjoyed hunting, photography, and fiddling with any project.  He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Karala Kitchen West of Montgomery City, MO; son, Brian C. West and wife, Stephanie, of Montgomery City, MO; two granddaughters:  Amelia West of Urbana, MO and Brianne West of Montgomery City, MO; one sister, Phyllis Venhaus of Lincoln, Nebraska; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd LaVern West and Louise Goulette West; one sister, Mary Ann Harris; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Venhaus and Lloyd Red Harris.

Memorial services with full Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  The Reverend John Foster will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
