Linda Kay
Foster
Nov 10, 1948 — May 2, 2025
Linda Kay (Meyer) Foster, age 76, of Owensville, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at New Florence Nursing Home in New Florence, Missouri.
Born on November 10, 1948, in Monroe County, Missouri, Linda was the daughter of Walter O. Meyer and Lillian Johnston. She married Willard "Bill" Foster, and together they raised two daughters, Sarah and Angela. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and daughter Angela, and their memories remained close to her heart. Linda lived a full life, marked by her love of cooking, hard work, and deep devotion to her family, friends, and community.
Linda worked in various roles throughout her life, including seven years at the Jefferson City Capital Plaza and 19 years at Midwest Truck Plaza. She was perhaps best known locally as the proud owner of Linda and Lil's Tip Top Restaurant at the 4-way in Montgomery City—a place where her exceptional cooking and warm personality left a lasting impression on everyone who walked through the door.
Cooking was not just her talent; it was her passion. Linda wrote cookbooks and shared her love of food with those around her. She also raised boxers for many years, cherishing her dogs like family. Linda was known for her generous spirit—she deeply loved her family and friends and never missed a chance to spoil them. A devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Linda found joy in watching baseball and cheering on her favorite team.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, her incredible meals, and the love she gave so freely.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Sarah Foster of High Hill, Missouri; two grandchildren: Elijah Hoffmann of Union, Missouri, and Emmylou Hoffmann of Owensville, Missouri; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Larry Meyer and Donnie Meyer, both of High Hill, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Foster, her parents, Walter and Lillian Meyer, and her daughter, Angela Foster.
