Leslie Ann Worley Hammett, 57, of Farber, MO, formerly of Montgomery City, MO, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at her home.

Leslie Ann Worley Hammett was born June 9, 1958, to William Lawrence "Mike" Worley and Lillian Marlyn Garrett Worley. Leslie graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1976 where she was a member of the Montgomery County R-II concert band and a cheerleader. She graduated from Sanford-Brown Business College in St. Louis, MO, with an associate degree in accounting. During her career, she worked for Belt Service Corp., St. Louis; Oliver Transportation, Mexico; and Service and Supply Coop, Vandalia. Leslie was a member of the First United Methodist-Presbyterian Church, Montgomery City, MO. She enjoyed gardening and loved being around her family, friends and her dogs.

Leslie is survived by her husband, Michael D. Hammett of Farber, MO; two step-children: Holly Sorm and husband, Sokrim, of Blue Springs, MO; and Nick Hammett and wife, Rebekah, of Ashland, MO; and four step-grandchildren: Camry, age 9; Andon age 6, Cole age 14, and Lauren age 10. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Eva Jewell Hammett of Vandalia, MO; two sisters: Joan Worley Andrews and husband, Wayne, of Montgomery City, MO; and Carol Lynn "Shurlee" Worley of Perry, MO; niece, Abigail M. Andrews of Montgomery City, MO; brother-in-law, Dick Hammett and wife, Diane of Farber, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, William Lawrence "Mike" Worley and Lillian Marlyn Garrett Worley and her father-in-law, Hesse P. Hammett.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Ed Hankinson officiated and interment was in the Montgomery City Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, April 29, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers included Matt Bishop, Ron Lindsey, Randy Slatten, Sokrim Sorm, Wayne Andrews and John Groteluschen.
