Lee Ann (Sachs) Horton, 68, of Middletown, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, surrounded by family.

Lee Ann was born on January 23, 1956, in St. Charles, Missouri, the daughter of Lester Sachs and Darlene (Kampman) Sachs. After graduating high school, she went on to complete a Vo-Tech beautician program. Though she worked a handful of jobs throughout her life, her favorite was as a homemaker, caring for her family. On August 29, 1974, she skipped school and went to Illinois to marry the love of her life, Dorsey Shelton Horton, Sr.; they spent 50 cherished years together before her passing.

She was an incredible woman who lived life to the fullest, surrounded by her family, animals, and the beauty of nature. She had a strong, no-nonsense personality, but also an immense capacity for love and care, especially for her loved ones. Her humor and straightforwardness made her an unforgettable presence, and her devotion to family, from her children to her great-grandchildren, left a lasting impact on everyone around her.

Lee Ann truly embraced the outdoors and found much joy in it; whether she was riding the mule with her grandkids, casting a fishing line with her husband, mowing, or just enjoying the simple pleasure of driving around on her tractor. She had a deep connection to nature and it showed through her garden, her love of hummingbirds and flowers, and her enjoyment of the peaceful moments soaking up the sun. She took pride in her animals, caring for her dogs and bottle-feeding her cows. She enjoyed games, cards, and playing volleyball; she always had the best kicks in the game.

She enjoyed decorating her home and had something for every holiday. As a woman who devoted so much of her time and love to her family it is no surprise that she loved the holidays, as family gatherings were just another reason for her to cook big meals and have her loved ones close by.

Lee Ann is survived by her loving husband, Dorsey Horton, Sr., of the home; children: Marcie (Danny) Brandenburg of Overland Park, Kansas, DJ (Tara) Horton of Bowling Green, Missouri, Dusty (Kailyn Garnett) Horton of Laddonia, Missouri; grandchildren: Daylyn (Colten) Johnson, Austin Horton, Kyla Lindsey, Hunter Horton, Rayna Brandenburg, Brynlee Horton; great-grandchildren: Hadley, Paisley, and Remington Johnson; siblings: Les (Stephanie) Sachs, Lenny (Jeanette) Sachs, Linda (Mark) Dunbar, Lloyd (Polly) Sachs, Danny (Sharon) Sachs, Darren (Stacey) Sachs; sister-in-law, Sherri Sachs; brother-in-law, Joe (Sylvia) Horton; sister-in-law, Maggie Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Darlene Sachs, brother, Larry Sachs, Parents-in-law, Ernest and Nancy Horton, and brother-in-law, Robert Smith.
