Juanita Charlene Moore Strange, 78, of New Florence, MO, formerly of Laddonia, MO, died on Monday, September 24, 2018, at the St. Andrews New Florence Care Center in New Florence, MO, surrounded by her family.
Juanita Charlene Moore Strange was born November 2, 1939 in New Florence, MO, to Clarence Lee Moore and Anna Katherine Cummings Moore. She graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1957. Charlene, as everyone called her, worked for the State of Missouri as a Director of Family Services in Montgomery County, MO until she retired. She also had worked for DFS in Audrain County and Monroe County, and did a lot of training sessions in St. Charles County, MO. Charlene enjoyed working with crafts, ceramics, sewing and crocheting. She loved spending time with all her family and her friends and she loved humming birds.
Charlene is survived by one son, Richard Strange, III; six grandchildren: Amanda N. Swaim, Christopher R. Swaim, Adam A. Swaim, Katlyn E. Foreman, Nathan L. Strange, and Jeremiah I. Williams; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Winona "Tudie" Simpson and husband, John, of Montgomery City, MO; sister-in-law, Fifi Davis of New Florence, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Lee and Anna Katherine Moore; daughter, Katherine Sue Swaim; son, Randall Lee Strange; three brothers: Berney Moore, Manuel Moore, and Clyde Moore; and sister-in-law, Wilma J. Moore.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Big Spring, MO. The Reverend Donald Deeker will officiate.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Heartland Hospice or to the Charity of One's Choice, c/o Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361.
