Joyce Ann (McIntosh) Byington, 82, of Troy, Missouri, formerly of Auxvasse, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Lincoln in Troy, Missouri.
Joyce was born on September 6, 1941, in Redford, Missouri, to Floyd McIntosh and Pauline (Beck) McIntosh. She married her loving husband, Freddie Rae Byington, in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 3, 1959. They had 53 cherished years together before his passing on September 2, 2013.
She spent her time as a homemaker and raising her five children. Above all else, Joyce was a mother, and an amazing one at that. Her hobbies revolved around what her children were doing at the time, she was devoted and doting when it came to her family. In her younger years, Joyce enjoyed weekend camping trips and loved to listen to Fred play the drums. She was always ready to travel if the opportunity presented itself, some favorite vacations included Ireland, The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Maine and many vacations to spend quality time with family in other states.
Mrs. Byington is survived by her five children: Judy (Tom) Ebert of Old Monroe, Missouri, Barbara Lasher of Foley, Missouri, Freddie (Wanda) Byington of Auxvasse, Missouri, Rodney Byington of Auxvasse, Missouri, Nicole (Bryan) Ashcraft of Troy, Missouri; Grandchildren: Ricky Lasher of Foley, Missouri, Kassi Lasher of Troy, Missouri, Courtney (Dalton) Smithee of Auxvasse, Missouri, Brandon Reinhold of Sikeston, Missouri, Jacob Ashcraft of Troy, Missouri, Cole Ashcraft of Troy, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kamren, and Desmond; and one sister, Judy April of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Rae Byington, her parents, Floyd and Pauline McIntosh, a brother, James McIntosh, and two grandchildren, Miranda Byington and John Higgins.
Joyce will be cremated and there will be a private family service held.
