Joseph Mark Morton, Sr., 59, of Troy, MO, died on Friday, June 5, 2020, at the Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab Center in Troy, MO, surrounded by family.
Joseph Mark Morton, Sr., was born November 14, 1960, to Lonell Morton and Susie Mozee Parker in Columbia, MO. He graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School and later worked in the tree service industry and was an over the road truck driver until an accident left him paralyzed. He enjoyed working on motorcycles and automobiles and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Morton is survived by his five children: Regina Rotunda and husband, David, of Moscow Mills, MO; Joe Morton, Jr. and wife, Rachel, of Troy, MO; Marcus Hawkins and wife, Danielle, of St. Louis, MO; Nicole Morton of North Carolina; and Jori Morton of Ozark, MO; and grandchildren: Nakia, Olivia, Jayce, Ryleigh, Landon, David, Joseph, Constance, Aaliyah, Devin, Jayvion, Jada, and Aydrain. Also surviving are two brothers: Eddie Mozee and wife, Jenice, of Florissant, MO; and Anthony Wilson and wife, Barbara, of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Mr. Morton was preceded in death by his parents, Lonell Morton and Susie Mozee Parker; son, Jared Morton, three sisters: Deborah Wilson, Ethel Mathews, and Robyne Mahaney; and one brother, Oliver Morton.
Memorial services were held at Noon on Monday, June 15, 2020 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Visitation was held on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The general public is welcome to attend the service while following social distancing guidelines. Please stay six feet apart and avoid close contact. Anyone in attendance is asked to wear a mask or other personal protective equipment.
