John Paul
Craven
Apr 5, 1976 — May 9, 2024
John Paul Craven, 48, of Montgomery City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville, Missouri, after battling brain cancer for many years.
John was born on April 5, 1976. He was raised in a large, loving family by James W. and Juanita (Dority) Craven. He worked most of his life as a carpenter, but his true calling was riding bulls. Many of his younger years were spent at the rodeo. John was an outgoing, friendly, flirty, happy man. He always wanted to talk to people and loved to make others laugh. He was loyal to his mom and dad and would do anything for them. Through his years of battling cancer and four brain surgeries he still found the positive in every situation, like getting to go out to eat with his sister, Stacey, after every doctor visit.
John is survived by his siblings: Delores "Jeanie" Fisher, Ron "Bub" Craven, Stacey Knipp, Jenny Craven, Melissa Craven, Dustin Craven, James Craven, Jimmy Craven, Ellie Carlock, all of Montgomery City, Missouri, Sarah Wilson of New Florene, Missouri, Jake Craven, Bryon Craven, both of Montgomery City, Missouri, and Becky Craven of Danville, Missouri; one daughter, Lakin, one granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Juanita Craven, and one sister, Ann Brown.
John will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
