Joan Louise Jacobi (Peery), 83, died on November 13 ^th , 2019. She left this earth at her home of 60 years surrounded by family.

Joan was born June 29 ^th , 1936 in Montgomery City, Missouri to Ad and Irene Peery. Joan graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1954. She married John Henry Jacobi, her husband of 40 years on August 3, 1956. Joan was a life-long resident of Montgomery County. She devoted her life to being homemaker and a strong matriarch to her family.

Joan was a lifelong drinker of Coca-Cola, watcher of any good long running television show, 40-plus year frequenter of Hairport in New Florence, proud supporter of the Democrat party, reader of a good novel, listener of classic country music (especially Conway Twitty), member of several community and church clubs (most noteworthy The Willing Workers and the Pit Stop Breakfast Club), knitter of anything to keep her grandchildren warm, lover of small talk and a good Sunday afternoon drive.

Joan was delighted to share memories with anyone she could and spoke proudly of these special times in her life. Some of her fondest memories to share include memories of her childhood and growing up in Montgomery City. She really enjoyed telling stories that included her younger brother, Jack, who she was certain was born 11 years after her - only to annoy her. She loved talking about leading her children's 4-H Clubs, being active in the community, volunteering at local county elections and weekend camping trips on the Gasconade River. Some her of favorite stories are of living in Alaska with family and lifelong friends, the Bishops, while John and Calvin worked on the Alaskan pipeline. She enjoyed recounting her yearly trips to the Oshkosh Air Show with grandchildren and stories of taking her grandchildren with her to her various club meetings. She also took pleasure in bragging about her 21 great-grandchildren and upcoming arrival of her first great-great grandchild.

Joan loved large family gatherings and for 6 decades enjoyed hosting these gatherings at her home for her extended family. She truly loved to be surrounded by those that meant so much to her. She was most proud of her roles of daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Joan was full of wit, sass, opinions and an unmatched loyalty to those she loved. For those loved ones she was admittingly their biggest fan and most honest critic (when needed). She will be missed.

Joan is survived by her children Teresa Jacobi, Kim (Darrell) Bosworth and David (Donna) Jacobi, 12 grandchildren Jeremy (Jenny), Jamie (Todd), Sara (Dennis), Christopher (Raven), Kyle (Amanda), Erin (Brandon), Kayli, John (Ellie), Klayton, Bobbi (Justin), Leah (Eli) and Sam, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter expected to arrive in December 2019. She is also survived by one brother Jack Peery, two sisters-in-law Joyce Peery and Susie Kulawiec, two brothers-in-law Mike (Lynette) Jacobi and David Jacobi and many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.

Joan is preceded in death by her husband John Jacobi, parents Ad and Irene Peery, daughter-in-law Robin Millam Jacobi, 3 sisters-in-law, 6 brothers-in-law, one niece and two nephews.

The family will have a private graveside service to honor her life.
