Jessica Ann Schmidt, 40, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Friday, April 1, 2016, the result of an automobile accident.
Jessica was born May 5, 1975 in St. Charles, MO, to James Alan Schmidt and Ann Britt Scarlet. She graduated from Montgomery County R-II School. Jessica was Dining Room Manager at the Stone Hill Vintage Restaurant in Hermann, MO. She was a very dedicated worker at anything she took on. She started a NA group in Montgomery City, MO, after years of struggling with addiction. She overcame her addiction and dedicated a lot of time and encouragement to helping others do the same. She was very passionate about this. Jessica loved spending time with her family, especially her children. She loved all her friends with her whole heart. She would send so many daily messages to friends and family, every day. Words of encouragement, words of praise, just to let each of them know that they were very important to her and she was always thankful to have each of you in her life. Her daily poems would always put a smile on your face.
Jessica is survived by two children: Alexander Jay Schmidt and Gracen Belle Schmidt, both of Montgomery City, MO; her Father, James A. Schmidt and wife, Vonda, of Moscow Mills, MO; her Mother, Ann Scarlet and husband, Bob, of rural Montgomery City, MO, and her fiancée, Ben Wilson. Also surviving are three brothers, Christopher O. Scarlet and wife, Gina, of the United States Army in El Paso, TX; James A. Schmidt and Cody Alan Schmidt of St. Charles, MO; one sister, Mindy Elledge and husband, Shawn, of Houston, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Jessica was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kaitlin; one brother, Kenneth Scarlet; her grandparents, and beloved Aunt, Jackie Toebben.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Chris Meyer officiated and visitation was held Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.
