Jerry Paul Barron, 76, of Elsberry, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2025, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Jerry was born on November 20, 1949, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of William Kenneth Barron and Dorothy Irene (Renken) Barron. He was a proud graduate of Elsberry High School.

On June 12, 1970, Jerry married Etta Elaine Foster at the Foley Baptist Church in Foley, Missouri. Together they shared more than five decades of marriage and raised two children, building a life centered on family, love, and hard work.

Jerry began working at the Elsberry IGA in 1966 while still in high school and dedicated 31 years there until 1997. He later went on to work at True Manufacturing, where he remained employed and was looking forward to retirement in 2026.

A man of many talents, Jerry was a gifted mechanic who could fix just about anything. He especially loved working on tractors—rebuilding and restoring old ones—and he and Elaine proudly collected Allis-Chalmers tractors. He was a problem-solver, always willing to lend his time and expertise to anyone in need.

Jerry found great joy outdoors. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing, and loved hunting on the family farm in Pike County. He also cherished time spent on their Montgomery County property with family. One of his fondest memories was building the lake on one of their properties alongside his loved ones. At home, he and Elaine delighted in feeding their many hummingbirds, a simple pleasure that brought him peace.

Family meant everything to Jerry. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life, and he took immense pride in each of them. Though he was mostly a quiet man, he was known for his warm smile, unforgettable laugh, and steady presence. He was always willing to help, never asking for anything in return.

Above all else, Jerry Paul Barron was a good man—kind, dependable, hardworking, and deeply loved. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Etta Elaine Barron, of the home; two children: Jennie
(Jeff) Green of Buckeye, Arizona, and Jeremy (Ashley) Barron of Elsberry, Missouri; five grandchildren: Hunter Barron, Easton Barron, Julia Barron, Kase Barron, and Clara Barron, all of Elsberry, Missouri; and one brother, William "Bill" (Marcie) Barron, of Troy, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Barron, and two siblings, Richard "Dick" Barron and Pam Fuhrman.

Mr. Barron will be cremated and services are pending.
