Vernon, Illinois.  She attended both grade school and high school in Montgomery City and graduated from New Florence High School.  On November 15, 1952 she was married in Hardy, Arkansas to Russell Dean Clark of New Florence where the couple resided most of their 49 years of marriage.  To this union two sons, Russell Dean, Jr, and Charles Alan were born.

On January 14, 2006 she married Jerry A. Farrar from Trenton, Illinois and they made their home in New Florence, Missouri.  Janis was a member of Grace Chapter #323, Order of the Eastern Star, Warrenton, MO.  Janis was a 54 year member of the Order of the Eastern Start.  She was very active in this organization having served as Worthy Matron three times, District Deputy Matron in 1973 and 1999; Grand Organist of the Grand Chapter of Missouri 2010 and Grand Representative of Nebraska in Missouri 2011-2018.  She treasured her OES membership and loved her many OES sisters and brothers, as they loved her.  She was a member of the New Florence United Methodist Church where she had served as Choir Director and Church Organist for numerous years.  Janis loved music and was a trained vocalist, a talented pianist and organist.  She enjoyed many hobbies and crafts.  Janis was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, she loved spending time with her family especially around the holidays.  She will be greatly missed by all of them, but will forever live in their hearts and memories.
