Janet Ferguson Hall, 90, of Mexico, formerly of Montgomery City, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at Schlanker Funeral Home with Pastor Susan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery City Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Janet was born on February 17, 1936, in St. Louis, the daughter of Charles and Lucy (Chadwick) Ferguson. On June 9, 1959, in Columbia, she married Lester Rue Hall. He passed away on December 30, 1993.

Mrs. Hall graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Fitzgibbons Hospital in Marshall before serving for many years at the New Florence Nursing Home, where she was Director of Nursing. She also worked for Dr. VanArsdale during her nursing career.

Janet was a member of the Montgomery City Christian Church, where she had taught Sunday school. She was also a member of P.E.O..

Janet loved playing cards with her family and never passed up a good game of Bingo. She often traveled with friends to play bingo and always brought along her lucky ducks. Janet especially cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren. She also had a special love for animals, especially cats and dogs.

Survivors include her children, Charles (Carol) Hall of Warrensburg, John Hall of Mexico, Bill (Pat) Hall of Mexico, and Ginnie Mason of Mexico; five grandchildren, Matthew Hall of New York, Michael Hall of St. Louis, Morgan (Lagen) Smith of Texas, Tony Hall of Mexico, and Cheyanne Hall of Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Camryn and Liam Deck of Iowa, and Leighton Smith of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Lester, Janet was preceded in death by one son, George Robert Hall; one daughter-in-law, Faith Rosethea Hall; one son-in-law, Charles Mason; and one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Melvin Lancaster.
