James Roger Walker,79, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the Boone Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, MO.

James Roger Walker was born on November 27, 1942 in St. Louis, MO, to John Thomas Walker and Isabel Clara Smith Walker.  James graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1960 and later married Bonnie Bohannon on September 11, 1976 in Montgomery City, MO, and have been married for over 45 wonderful years.  James was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Montgomery City, had worked for Montgomery Manufacturing until his health started to decline. James was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Fan and was an avid collector of coins, bicycles, trains, guns and baseball cards.  James enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Bonnie Bohannon Walker of Montgomery City, MO; children: Wayne Walker and fiancé, Kim, of Martinsburg, MO; David Walker of Wellsville, MO; Nancy Burle and husband, Nicholas, of Byron, IL; and Kevin Ray Walker of Montgomery City, MO and grandchildren, Rilea Marie Walker, Skylar Reed Walker, Landon Nicholas Burle, Rees Michael Burle and Drew Anthony Burle.  Also surviving are his sisters: Geraldine "Geri" Swartz of Thornton, CO and Kathi Munoz and husband, Vincent "Bobby" of Littleton, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Walker and Isabel Clara Smith Walker; son, Thomas John Walker; and one grandson, Tyler Joe Walker.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City, MO.  Father Philip Kane will officiate and interment will be in the Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, MO.  A Rosary will be held at 9:00 AM with Visitation to follow on Monday until 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church.  Casketbearers include Wayne Walker, David Walker, Kevin Walker, Nicholas Burle, Skylar Walker, Landon Burle, Rees Burle, and Michael Ridenour.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Church, the Immaculate Conception School, the Charity of One's Choice, or contribute to funeral costs, c/o Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO   63361.
