James Stevens, 66, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at SSM St. Joseph Hospital West at Lake St. Louis, MO.

James Stevens was born September 18, 1956 in Washington, MO, to George Norman Stevens and Mildred Daisy Lee Stevens.  He met Roberta Jennings, the love of his life, and they have been together for over 52 years.  James worked at AZZ Electric and Supreme Cuisine and was ready to retire.  James enjoyed detailing cars, hunting and fishing.  He also loved to barbeque and have fish fries and loved watching basketball with his friends.  He loved being around his family and many friends.

James is survived by his love, Roberta Jennings, of Montgomery City, MO; two daughters:  Sharene Jennings of Montgomery City, MO; and Shantanya Jennings of Columbia, MO; and grandchildren:  Aaron Henderson and Julius Henderson, both of Columbia, MO.  Also surviving are his brothers: Leroy Mure of Hermann, MO and Ray Lee Stevens of Chicago, IL; sisters: Mary Ann Johnson and husband, Donnie, of Jefferson City, MO; Joyce Forrest and husband, Sterling "Duckie, Sr.", Erlene Green; Rosemary Camp and husband, Johnny, all of Montgomery City, MO; and Juanita Anderson of Columbia, MO; and numerous brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, George Norman Stevens and Mildred Daisy Lee Stevens; and brothers, Kenneth Stevens, George N. Stevens, Jerry Stevens; Clifford Kemp and Kermit Stevens.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  The Reverend Rosemary Camp will officiate and interment will be in the Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, MO.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.
