James Milton O'Keefe, 82, of Warsaw, MO passed away peacefully at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.

Jim was born on July 19th, 1933 in St Louis, MO, the youngest son of Leo and Dorothy Penn O'Keefe. He graduated from Montgomery City High School from the Class of 1952. He married Gerry Hipp on November 5, 1955, in St Louis and was a loving husband for sixty years.

Jim is survived by his wife, Gerry, of Warsaw, MO; and five sons: Donald and wife, Sheryl, of Kansas City; Tom of Montgomery City; Tim and wife, Sarah, of Montgomery City; Craig and wife, Renee, of Ashland; and Scott and wife, Kathy, of Gladstone.

Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren: Sarah, Erin, and Michael O'Keefe of Kansas City; Zach and Allison O'Keefe of Gladstone; Caleb, Rachel, and Ethan O'Keefe of Ashland; Emily and Elizabeth O'Keefe and Abbie, Case, and Emma Doyle all of Montgomery City. Other survivors include: a brother and sister in-law, Robert and Marilyn Hipp of St Louis; and niece, Jan Boncek and nephews: Jim (Pam) Hipp and John (Chris) Hipp.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald O'Keefe; and one sister, Marilyn O'Keefe.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, and woodworking. He was involved in the Montgomery City Kiwanis Club; Masonic Lodge #246; and the Montgomery City Jaycees. Jim was a scoutmaster of local Boy Scout Troop 49 for several years and attended many camping and float trips. Jim was a key player in starting the Khoury League baseball organization in Montgomery City. Prior to moving to Warsaw the O'Keefe's attended the Mineola Methodist Church.

Jim retired from the US Postal Service as a mail carrier and then built homes in the area for a number of years.

Memorial services were held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Kenneth Cleeton and Mr. Daniel Deiter officiated. The family received friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.
