James Edward Mayer, 80, of Middletown, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at his home surround by loved ones.

James was born December 8, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Gustave and June (Warren) Mayer. In his youth, James served in the Army, then spent many years as a machinist and retired from Watlow Electric. He was fond of bowling and loved old westerns, particularly if it had John Wayne or Audie Murphy in it. His greatest joy was his family. After he retired, he spent much of his time enjoying life's simple pleasures; like fishing or just watching deer from the back porch with Lynda.

James was preceded in death by his parents; Gustave and June (Warren) Mayer, and one brother; Mark Mayer.

He is survived by his wife; Lynda Mayer, children; Doug Mayer, Jim Mayer, Rick (Kasey) Ray, John (Dee) Ray, Sherry (Darrel) Ray, James Ray, and Lauren Kopp, brothers; Steve Mayer and Tim Mayer, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many other extended family and friends. James will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He will be cremated and there will be no services at this time.
